M&S Piri Piri Chicken

Last week on my blog I talked about how our favourite restaurants shared their special recipes with us so that during lockdown we could re-create our favourite foods at home, as I was out shopping this week I spotted this new offering from M&S and thought our supermarkets are actually competing with eateries by creating their own copies of our restaurant favourites. Well I purchased this and took it home for my family to try out, the verdict was a very good one, the chicken was tender and juicy the spice itself was zingy and flavoursome, the Piri Piri element was perfect! For the price I would totally recommend this for a tasty quick offering for when one doesn’t feel like cooking from scratch and fancies a restaurant favourite!

Wicked Chipotle Tinga Spice Blend

As we continue our way through 2021, adding an extra flare to basic food has become a major trend, therefore I wanted to continue my mission to introduce some hidden supermarket gems. I purchased this from my local supermarket a few weeks ago, since purchasing I have used this in many different ways just to give my everyday food an extra kick, you can use this on meat, fish and also on vegetables, if using with other spices, use a little amount as it is quite strong, if using on its own be prepared for a little tingle at the back of your throat. Also this is amazing for adding a little something different to sauces, I used this in my pasta sauce, this added a nice lemony, spicy kick, would definitely recommend this, your food will never be boring again!

Wicked Mango Masala

I purchased this a couple of weeks ago my local supermarket so that I could try it, the main reason for the purchase was that I simply could not find mango powder anywhere and really wanted to try it out, so when I found this, I wanted to see if there was a difference with having the mango flavour mixed within the spices. I had tried this on a cauliflower steak and my husband chicken, the taste absolutely fantastic, even though you could taste the spices, the sweetness of the mango was not lost!!!! I have many more ideas for trying this spice out. I would recommend this as a great spice mix to have in your cupboard, it’s versatile, can be used on meat, fish, vegetables, and can be used in your curries.

Spice Tailor Curry Kit

This was an interesting review for me, as I have never tried a curry kit, being Indian if my mum found out, she would go mental!!! We wanted a curry that was as traditional as one that my mum would cook but without the time and effort required. We found a great solution to spice up a shop bought curry kit and to give it that freshly made feeling. So what did we do??? We didn’t use any of the hard spices provided, due to them being impractical as the majority would require fishing out after cooking (or result in broken teeth). We added onions for texture, garlic for taste, garam masala, ground cumin and ground coriander for depth and chilli flakes for a kick. These small changes enhanced this kit massively and in the end made it feel much more like it was a traditional curry.

Silicone Icing Bags with Nozzles

I purchased this when I started wanting to experiment with different designs on my cakes. This item is low cost, reusable, easy to clean, really good quality and you get loads of nozzles to try, so if you are anything like me, you will want to give them all a try in one go. I found that icing a cake or a cupcake was quite intimidating as it really takes some time to master but with this kit it made the overall experience easier to master!!!

Cookie Cutter

I purchased a pack of these from Amazon a while ago, one of my most trusted items in the kitchen. I use these for scones, cookies, to make fun shapes for my sons pancakes and they are pretty good for putting shapes into pumpkins. The cost is relatively low and this a very versatile bit of kit!!!
