Chocolate Tray Bake with Silky Smooth Frosting

Prep Time: 15 Minutes 

Cook Time: 20 Minutes 


Ingredients 

200g Self Raising Flour 

200g Butter 

200g Caster sugar

2 Tbspn cocoa powder

4 Eggs

1 Tspn Baking Powder

0.5 Vanilla extract

2 Tbspn milk

Buttercream

200g Butter

400g Icing sugar

5 Tbspn cocoa powder

2 Tbspn milk


Method

  1. Heat the oven to 190C. 

  2. Grease the baking tray with butter.

  3. Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix until pale.

  4. Put the mixture into the baking tray.

  5. Bake for around 20-25 minutes (check at 18 with a skewer, if it is not clean then the tray bake is not baked).

  6. Leave to completely cool.

  7. Put all of the ingredients in a bowl for the buttercream and beat until smooth and silky (it normally takes me around 7 minutes). - If not sure taste it:)

  8. Using a pallet knife, spread the buttercream over the cooled cake (optional use sprinkles of choice:)
